Another 'Just Wondering'

These last 12 days of school, we were given the gift of wearing jeans. That's a big deal for teachers. Except, I don't really have jeans. I've been waiting to "lose weight" and fit into a smaller size, ha ha ha. Well, I do have 2 pair of maternity jeans and one pair of jeans that I've had for at least 7 years. They are a bit tight...I've had 3 babies since they fit me right. My how the curves just shift around with each pregnancy. Ya know how people say they are shaped like a pear or an apple? Not me honey, uh-uh, I am a snowman!

So the old jeans are starting to ware around the pockets and seams, but I am wearing them today anyway. The only other pair of jeans I have are capri...and flare (or is it flair?) at the bottom. Okay fashion police, I need your help.

How many pairs of jeans do you have? Where do you buy them?

While we're on the subject of clothes, how about shoes? I've never been a woman who ooed and ahhhhed over shoes. Give me some sandals that match everything and I'm happy. I mostly have open-toed or open-heeled shoes because 9 out of 12 months it is warm in this town. I can't justify spending a lot of money on shoes that I'll wear for less than 3 months. But my feet are cold! Are you a shoe freak? Do you have lots of shoes that are the same color? Or do you survive on a good ol' pair of sneakers?

Just wondering!

Hi Stephanie, It's Trisha. I have two pair of jeans that don't fit me good at all. I've been told that Academy has some great jeans that stretch. I have been meaning to go there to try them. Also you can get a smaller size and have them fit your figure.

On shoes, I have one good pair of sneakers and two pair of good dress shoes (that's without counting my sandle collection). Lynda wears jeans a lot. Maybe she'll respond.

I love you and your family. Especially those precious babies. Give them all Hugs and Kisses from Granny.

I have finally lost 50 of the 70 lbs. I have gained. I hadn't bought new jeans in years because I was waiting to lose the weight. Now that it has finally happened (though I do have 15 lbs. to go before I hit my goal weight), I buy Eddie Bauer. They carry talls and have a higher waist (which I like). I have a really hard times with pants in general. I am not tall enough to be tall exactly, but too tall to be average. I have tried on a lot of different brands in the last couple of months and those worked the best for me.

I love Clark brand shoes. They are a little pricey, but worth it. They wear like iron. I have blue, black, brown, and red pairs (all gotten on sale or clearance). They are open backed too! I hate wearing shoes with backs. I have a pair of tennis shoes, but I wear them to the gym.

I hope you are doing better. You are in my prayers.

Well, I mostly shop at Lane Bryant, which is for sizes 14 and up, which I don't know what size you wear and Lane Bryant clothes may be too big for you. They do sell petite, regular, and tall in their pants which is nice. I love their "Classic" jean line. I'm a yellow 6. I know that means nothing to you, but they measure you and they analyze your body shape and thighs and hips and all and tell you what jean shape you should consider. I am a yellow! I love my jeans. And they're actually quite cozy b/c it's a stretch denim fabric. I call them my sexy pants. Cary thinks that's funny. They're about $40 but Lane Bryant sends out coupons in the mail and email about every other week. Spend $75, get $25 off, spend $150, get $50 off, or spend $225, get $75 off. And they have great sales so I usually hit the goldmine there and their clothes are very trendy and stylish.

As for shoes, TARGET girl! And payless! I have bought the cutest closed toe shoes at Target for Winter and I got them all for less than $10. Cause I'm in the same boat as you...this is a flip flop town!

I am a sucker for a good pair of jeans. I like the GAP, but they cost an arm and a leg. The plus side, is that you will not be replacing them every year (or every other year for that matter. I think my current GAP jeans are like 10 years old) My absolute favorite jean that is LESS than $10 is from Steve and Barry's which is closing!! I guess it's because they sold good jeans for less than $10. :) I know almost nothing about shoes. It's not a strong point. :)

I can never find jeans that seem to suit me. But, I did find a cute pair at Old Navy (they had a $10 jean sale and I'm pretty sure the jeans are on some type of sale right now there, not $10, but good prices). They have a nice variety. I hear flare jeans are coming back in and I really love that style. I wanted to bring them back but didn't have the guts to! Check out the old navy website - they show all the styles! Also, Oprah did a show JUST on finding the perfect jeans...you can google it...Oprah and jeans maybe? Good luck on your search! Sorry for the novel ,as usual!

I am going to add a post here. I just ordered a pair of these
http://www.landsend.com/pp/ZstrapTerrainJaneShoes~186776_-1.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::SPB&CM_MERCH=IDX_00009__0000000917&origin=index

and I am already in love. The reason they are all sold out of black is that they were the "St. Nick's Pick" the other day which means they were on sale for $30. So I snagged a brown pair for $30 and they are warm enough for Texas weather and they have good soles!! Very important. And they are CUTE.
